Child Learning Game

When your kids are young, they will always want a new toy.  You can take advantage of this by providing them with a new child learning toy whenever they get to a new stage in their learning ability.  From an early age children can benefit from a child learning toy, but you have to be sure to keep your children’s toys current with their age, or they will quickly lose interest. 

At our playgroup we have a wide range of toys for children to play with.  It is interesting to notice how a child will go from one child learning toy to the next from week to week.  This is not because they lose interest in the toy, but because that particular child learning toy has taught the child all they can learn from it.  We always notice how the kids pick their favorite child learning toy and will not be parted from it – until they find a new one. 

Of course, we make use of this to teach the value of sharing your toys, as this is an important skill to be learnt with any child learning toy. 

When equipping your home or crèche with toys, remember that you have to provide a child learning toy for all ages, all at the same time.  For the very young ones find some stuffed animals, shapes, balls and brightly colored objects.  These will teach associations between colors, shapes and words – vital skills to be learnt from a child learning toy. 

For the slightly older ones and those just out of their toddler years, try to pick a child learning toy that encourages make-believe.  Good ideas for a child learning toy like this are fire trucks, police cars, dolls and action figures.  These not only teach about important public objects, but they also encourage children to make use of their imagination while playing with a child learning toy, and this is something that all children need to learn and master at some point. 

 For children who are approaching or passing reading age, find a child learning toy that teaches the foundation levels of letter or word identification, number problems or word problems.  This type of child learning toy will teach a child to start thinking analytically and to solve problems from new angles, working with others to find an answer to a common problem.  These are skills you want your child to learn from a child learning toy.
